Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy

How does it work?

During the treatment, a vacuum is created in the cup as it is placed on the affected area. The superficial skin, fascia, and muscles are lifted up into the base of the cup to initiate the sequence of healing. The cup is then glided over the surface of the skin helping to release knots, aka “myofascial adhesions”. Although cupping has many benefits, it is used primarily in two chief modalities: therapeutic massage and injury recovery. When used as therapeutic massage, the sensation of cupping is often characterized as soothing with deep warmth and tingling long after the treatment has ended. When used for injury recovery, the strong vacuum will mimic the rolling action of deep tissue massage to promote healing from chronic pain or sports injuries. Cupping Therapy
