Pain Relief From Muscle Tension

Muscle Tension Pain

Muscle tension may be the enemy of your back, but holistic healthcare can ease muscular tension through relaxation techniques. Muscular tension places extra stress on your spine, stretches ligaments, and distorts body posture. And, more obviously, muscle tension causes pain!

At Lake Pointe Chiropractic and Wellness Center, we aim to:

  • correct any spinal misalignment
  • restore a full range of movement
  • relax and lengthen tense muscles, tendons, and ligaments
  • correct faulty posture
  • relieve any pain caused by overstimulated nerves

So, with our chiropractic care, you might be treated with an adjustment. This is a form of manipulation that consists of a sudden, short controlled thrust against a joint to extend the range of the joint capsule and surrounding tissues. You may even hear a popping sound during this procedure, but it is completely beneficial and harmless. If you hate the sound of the popping, fear not. We have advanced technology that can do the adjustment without that “popping sound”.

In addition, we might suggest massage therapy. When conducting massage therapy, we might apply heat or ice and/or perform kneading to relax your muscles before a manipulation. Also, massage therapy is used to release trigger points or to lengthen tendons and muscles.
